Weekend with the nieces!

What a nice weekend! I went to my Mom's house in Virginia Beach. My sister and her husband arrived on Saturday, and I got to spend 3 fun-filled days with my family. It was a blast.

Kyla is growing so fast. It's so easy to forget she is only 2 months old!

Lauren was a blast. Her imagination just kills me. Every once in a while you'll think you're having a civilized conversation with her (well, as civilized as a conversation with a 2-year old CAN be), and suddenly you find yourself in the middle of one of her TV shows! It's hilarious. She'll be playing in the dirt and all of a sudden she's Daisy Duck and she's stuck in the mud.

When Christie and Matt left North Carolina, they told Lauren that she was going to see Mema and Aunt Crazy. The whole 3 hour trip she was saying "Are we there yet?" Mom and Dad would say "Not yet!" Finally when they pulled in the driveway, Matt went to get Lauren out of her carseat. He said "We're here!" She looked up at him and replied "Is this some kind of joke?" AWESOME. I love that kid.

Have a great weekend!

Well, this is my last blog for the week. I had a great one. My cousin Chuck was in town and last night my friends Jen and Dave came over for dinner. Not too shabby! Tonight I head to Virginia Beach to see my Mom, and my sister and her family arrive tomorrow. I can't wait to see my neices!!

Have a safe and happy weekend!

As you probably already know, I went to Greece with my friend Sophie in April. I have finally uploaded some of the videos from our trip! Here are the links to some of our experiences, in chronological order. My personal favorites mini-movies are the Parthenon Turtule, the panoramic view of Ia in Santorini, the widow trying to sell Sophie lace in Anogia, and the ferry back to Athens.

The Miracle of Genetics

Happy Thursday everyone!

Unfortunately, I have to go to the gym, but I wanted to update the blog with a few pictures that my sister sent me today.

Almost two short months ago, my niece Kyla Anne was born. This is a video of Lauren and Kyla's first meeting.

Now, my Mom thinks that Kyla is the granddaughter in whom my late father has been partially reincarnated. I didn't believe her at first. I mean, yes, Kyla is the ONLY one in the Kennedy line who has miraculously been able to retain Dad's blue eyes, despite having a mother with brown/green eyes and father with dark brown eyes. OK, Mom, I'll give you that.

But TODAY, I saw this picture from my Sister, and now I have to admit: maybe Mom had a small point. What do you think? Does the expression match? For those of you who knew Dad, you may agree that their TV-watching-expressions bear a striking resemblance! For those of you who don't know Dad, I couldn't find a picture of Dad watching TV, so I included this picture of him from Christmas 2005 ... it's pretty close.

Well, it's finally July in Richmond, kids!

We've had some abnormally cooler weather for a while but it's hitting 100 degrees today - again! - and the humidity is off the charts. It finally feels like Virginia again.

I had a fabulous weekend of organizing my life and being lazy. Probably my biggest accomplishment is my clean desk. It's so clean I considered taking a picture of it and posting it to this blog - that's how happy it makes me. Instead, I think I'll just upload a couple of pictures from the 4th of July and Saturday.
Maymont was a blast on Wednesday. The animals were all out with the exception of the river otters, who are having some remodeling done. It was a big hot, but that was a great way to spend an afternoon. I definitely want to go back to the Dooley house when I don't have to worry about kids breaking antiques.

Saturday was my friend Amanda's bridal shower. Can you guess the theme?

George M. Cohan's birthday

Here are a few pictures from last weekend. I had a great one! Spa with Soo on Saturday and out to dinner for Italian... a wonderful (and organic!) breakfast with her on Sunday before joining the chaos of the Hagler household to meet 2 week old Finn... then dinner with Kerry after watching her son Christopher jump off the step 100 times!

I've been TAGGED!

Well, my friend Susan 'tagged' me on her web site today, so I guess I have to reply! Actually, this was a lot of fun... except for how boring it is that I've only lived in Virginia and how MANY other places I would rather be right now, of course!!
4 Jobs I have had in my life
- In the summer of 1987, I worked at Long John Silvers for 9 hours. In that short period of time, I washed about 1,000 baked-on, caked-on fish battered pans and I also managed to drop an entire tray of fried food on someone’s lap. I hated it, and as soon as I was able to land another job I quit, never to return for my $33 paycheck and NEVER to return to the food service industry.
- Hallmark Store – 5 years
- Managing a children’s clothing & candy store, Sunlovers, in Ocean Breeze Festival Park.
- Managing a concession stand at the Lynnhaven Boys Baseball Park.
4 films I can watch again and again
4 places I have lived
- Virginia Beach, VA
- Fredericksburg, VA
- Northern Virginia
- Richmond, VA
4 TV series I watch
- Entourage
- House
- Army Wives
- Grey’s Anatomy (although my interest in this one is waning)
4 places I have been on holiday
- England
- Italy
- Australia
- Greece
4 things I do every time I go on the Net
- Check account balances
- (this is embarrassing) People.com
- CNN.com
4 things I would NOT eat for anything in the world
- Green vegetables (OK, I have eaten them, but I detest them)
- Liver
4 places I would love to be right now
- Austin, Texas
- Any beach (on an ocean)
- In bed asleep
- Taking pictures anywhere
4 people to tag
I can’t do this! I’m flattered that I was tagged, but I just can’t think of anyone who would appreciate it like me!

Have a great Monday, everyone.
